Nothing is worse then the loss of an old friend. I'm speaking of April, whom I've known since I was 4 and she was 3. We've always had our differences but not as many as there are now. To make this simpler, I'll compare the differences, starting with appearance, as that's what struck me first.
Her nails were fake, perfect, and French where as mine were natural, uneven, and bore the chipping remains of nail polish that I applied in early June. April's hair was highlighted and flawless, making me slightly ashamed of my natural, frizzy locks. Her face was preppy, adorned with makeup and without a single blemish. I was the complete opposite with as much acne as she had blush and eye, um, stuff. As you can tell with my exquisite knowledge of the cosmetic world that I have never worn makeup except for the occational lip gloss which I lick off after the first 10 minutes (mmm, vanilla). To top it all off, she was wearing a pink sweater thing with a white undershirt (bloody prep) and I was wearing my orange shirt, bought at Hot Topic, that says "Drink apple juice 'cause OJ will kill you" and old, black sweat pants.
As far as our personality goes, we're so different that we could scarcely hold a conversation for more then a few seconds. The ending of the day was much like the rest of the day as I went to my car to listen to Green Day and she got in her car and the Backstreet Boys started playing.
Damn
I think it's time to kiss this friendship goodbye.
Time sucks

This is why I never give advice

During these difficult times, good advice is always welcome. Lately, my friends have been in situations where a friendly word would be greatly appreciated but I haven't the slightest idea as far as what to say. So, I did some brainstorming (def.-intense thinking while playing SW: Battlefront and waiting for Battlefront 2) and came up with a couple things to say on a few topics.
*Note...This list will keep expanding as I get new epifanies)
Sarah's Advice On...
Fame---Look towards the sun but don't let it blind you.
Sex---Avoid the pain and abstain/ But if you can't wait, masturbate! *it rhymes if you're that dense. It'd be a lovely thing to teach elementry kids, don't you think?!*
Politics---*long sigh* Not for the good at heart
Fantasies---Sweet, naive lies. One cannot belong to both reality and fantasy. Immerse yourself in one and you grow away from the other.

After much pestering (actually, very little pestering. I cave quickly) I agreed to go to another track race at the Velodrome at Alpenrose. Last time I went, Andrea LOST!! That's nearly unheard of! Well, after going to todays race (the Junior Championships) I've found something I'm really good at: Sports Photography.
Yup
Don't believe me? Here are some pics...(please note that there are many MANY more that I could have posted that are equally as awsome but Blogger can only take so much)
(The dude in red, Ian, is on the Fred Meyer team and Andrea's teamate, Rochelle, has a huge crush on him so they got prints of those two pics and one other and they're gonna give em to her. I wish I could be there to see her reaction)
(The girl in the green in Andrea something (not my friend) and she broke a record during that race so that's a pretty awsome pic. It could be worth something someday)
Bre has enlightened me to the unnecessary and downright barbaric slaughtering of innocent pit bulls and all dogs that resemble them. That, I'm afraid, is merely the tip of the iceberg. Our (man's) ego and want for power has elevated us to great heights but now our heads are in the clouds and we are bling to all but ourselves. I've tried to ignore the fact, for ever time it crosses my mind, it sends me deep into thoughts of shame and sorrow. Thoughts that I only narrowly escape from.
How I would love to have a chat with someone who's so fucking pompous that they think that their life and their life only is worth saving. How my mind is wasted on this life. It aches for a long fight, a good fight but, looking upon the horizon, I fear that lust will never be quenched unless by some stroke of luck.
Going back to the topic of pit bulls, it seems that those are the only attacks reported, despite them being only #2 on the list of most aggressive dog breeds (German shepherds to the #1 slot and Labs follow the pit bulls at #3). No one ever hears on the news, "Child violently mauled by a Jack Russell Terrier while parents were getting drunk and not caring. But first, you 5 day forecast!" Well, the latter we hear all too often and, unless you live in someplace hot and everyday is predictably sunny, it's often wrong. It's yet another thing I have no faith in. Now, going back to more serious matters (not that the uselessness of the the 5 day forecast isn't serious) the Jack Russell comment wasn't a joke. They're one of the tip 10 biting breeds as well but I've never seen a crusade against them. Secondly, I'm sure 9 out of 10 dog attacks happen with an unsupervised child. If you asked me (which you wouldn't because no one does) the parents should be imprisoned for child neglect. Often times, the dog is chained up and/or in its own yard. That evidence alone would allow the dog to live were we living in a civilized world. For those who have read or seen the Prizoner of Azkaban, you will recall a similar situation with Buckbeak the hippogriff, who was sentenced to death simply because he did what ever other student at Hogwarts wanted to do. Unfortunately, for us muggles, we don't have timeturners so our innocent creatures and godfathers shall remain condemned.
I'm so passionate about this issue that I might, for once, do something about it (Le Gasp!) and let that be my legacy. Our legacy. Let us be known as the generation that finally does things right.

I don't seem to be the type to surrender herself to the captivating enchantment of the sea. Even on a mere ferry, a desolate vessel devoid of even billowing sails that seem to be the heart of a ship's beauty. I found my heart giving itself to the rolling, indigo abiss. Man has climded the highest mountain, crossed the vastest deserts, even walked on the moon but the blue beneath the sky was, is, and will be an enigma. Its macinations scarcely fathomed by those above the surface.
The oldest, wisest and fiercest beings on earth, the sharks, perplex us, even today with our revolutionary vessels and instruments. We destroy them because we fear them yet, if we were a more civilized society, we'd learn from them, realizing their lineage and claim to the earth is far greater then ours. Perhaps if man's mind was a bit larger and ego quite a bit smaller, our eyes could be turned to the sky and the sea instead of the news where we find that yet another life has been lost in our feutal attemp for ultimate power.
Ah, here I go again. I start off with the innocient claim of my love affair with the sea and end up railing on mankind. I really need to stop because I'm being a hypocrite and I'msure it's annoying those around me (my weary and aguished mind being first and formost).
What Came Up When I Google Image Searched "Voldemort"...

This goodbye will surely be a regretable one. I have no will or intention to go back to the US. Here, it’s so relaxing and simply gorgeous. In the states, the air is so filthy, even in the country. One wouldn’t know it, however, unless they come to someplace where the air is as it was before the age of man (or at least pretty close to it). The animals are abundant and without care of humans. The lakes are so clear, you can easily see to the bottom. I used to joke and say, "I’m moving to Canadia," but it’s not going to be a joke any longer.
What’s the point of saying "I love you"? To me, "love" seems like no greater a word then "pig" or "ass and people often end up saying all 3 to the same person. Why use that word on a person that gives you undying happiness when it also can be used to describe feelings toward cheese and chipmunks? Saying "I love you" has nothing to do with meaning it. I have absolutely no personal experience to back up these accusations but that seems like the general vibe I get from friends, TV, and music.
I’m not really sure if I’m entirely correct, though. Maybe there is a fuzzy feeling people get when saying "I love you" but, seeing as I’ve never been there yet, I don’t know about it. I’m a writer so I understand the entrancing spell that words can have but how empty they can then leave you. That’s how I feel towards those three words. They’re just words and nothing more.
If somebody tells me they love me, I won’t believe them, at least not at first. If we’re able to look eachother in the eyes and never feel the need to turn away or can confide in them our darkest secrets without any regret towards doing so, then I know it’s true. But these are, once again, just empty words. Simple hopes that will probably never bloom into reality. However, I shouldn’t give up. Maybe it will happen. Maybe.
I really need to stop writing about love. I’m just making a fool of myself.

They are! And how could they not be? They have a very enlightening atmosphere. They're open minded, such as allowing same sex relationships in 4 legged mammals.
Yes, it's true. I saw two female bighorn sheep "expressing their love" right next to the highway and, miraculously, the government continued to funtion and some great, unseen force didn't smite them. These new teachings are wonderful.
I've also found why Canada has never had a terrorist attack. It's because they have signs saying you can't! Driving into some touristy waterfall area, there was a big yellow sign depicting a car, a rather shady looking figure, and what could either be a sun or a bomb. Then again, it could have been the international sign for drive-by tourism BUT I THINK NOT!! It was the Canadian sign for terrorism. This country confuzes and astounds me. Sheer brilliance.
Well, I should be going because I bought a movie (SW Ep. III) for $10 (Canadian) so I really should be watching it. Tata

I've always liked this song. It's not a very good song, actually, but it has thought provoking lyrics. Lyrics which, as I am never happy with just stating things, I elaborate on. Confuzing? Well, here's the song with why I say in ().
Artist:Jewel
Album:This Way
Title:The New Wild West
You see the ghosts of the buffalo (AHH!)
Moving both fierce and slow
Like glittering prophesies
On the edge of the horizon (Pretty)
As you drive glittering highways (Pff, glittering?)
And beaten-up by-ways
That straddle and girdle
A great and many-faced nation (Great? I suppose...)
There are lambs in the ghettos (Picture a sheep with baggy pants and serious bling)
Who worship their gapettos
Believing in, though never seeing
The strings they think bind them
So you write to our congressmen
With bleeding pens
Of the sorrow within
And in return they just send
Tickets to the latest tom hanks show (Yup, that pretty much sums up what are government is now a days)
Chorus:
Welcome to the new wild west (Yeeha!)
Each man for himself
A nation of civilized steeples (I wouldn't say civilized)
And lonely people
Welcome to the new wild west (yeeha?)
There are so many fractions (math...grrr)
And cue-card reactions (Like what they do on Dr. Phil! Cue Card: Laugh *laughs)
It's hard to keep clear
The possibilities here'cause there's no force to unite them (We must learn to use the Force. Clear your mind and control your emotions)
Privilege has ruled for thousands of years (Ya, unfortunetly. Fuck it)
Wars have been fought with bibles and tears (Is she talking about the Crusades? That was pretty much Bilbes versus tears, in my opinion)
Yet liberation can't deny the temptation
And soon becomes the oppressor (Hmm, sounds familiar...)
Show me a leader who's fit to lead
Who don't sew his seed in anything
Wounded enough to breed
Because after all what fun is power
If you can't act like a rock star? (No fun! No fun at all!)
Chorus
See me, i've been cruel (Poor spider. It didn't deserve to die...*tear*)
I've been petty and unkind
But i know my own mind (You perhaps. Not me)
And since it seems clear
There's no one leading us here (Who is she talking about? Lets think REAL HARD. I know, it's hard work)
The only thing left it appears
Is to task ourselves to be better each time
Then those before us (Well, I agreed with you up to this point.)
We'll be an army of theives
Of self-freed slaves
Of mild-mannered maids
We'll fight with whispers and blades
So get ready, a new day is dawning (CLASS OF '09, BABY!! W00T!)
Chorus
Well, ya. There it is. If you want to actually hear the song, look it up at radioblogclub.com. It's not real good. I just like the lyrics. If those lyrics appeal to you, she has some other thought provoking songs. Coldplay, Train, and Green Day have some as well.

So many fun things have happened over this summer but I haven't really written about any of em. And right now, I'm having a brain fart so I guess I won't. Although, I have started to take a liking to foriegn languages, mainly Japanese, Anglo Saxton, and Elvish. "Love" written in elvish looks BEAUTIFUL!! I'm not sure how to say it in elvish, though. I think it's "mel" but I'm not possitive. Once I get back home and to my scanner, I'll put some of the drawings on. Cellar Door is another word that I've tried to write in Elvish but the vowels are conflustering. It doesn't look too good. The Anglo Saxton version turned out good, though. Until next time, Cuio i Laer annon! (translation: Live the Summer long)
