The Band Bus

What happens on the band bus stays on the band bus.

Coming Full Circle

The Band Bus has finally gone back to its roots. Contrary to some, I found the overnighter quite enjoyable. Something I found rather funny is that the one looking forward to it the most had the worst time. Rather unfortunate, but the irony amuses me nevetheless.

The band letter and the "Most Improved" award was a nice way to start it out. Scott, congrats on your award, as well. We rock like that. The toilet paper wedding video was pretty hillarious. Joey made for a lovely flower girl, and Cory's dress/outfit/thing was a work of brilliance.

The Overnighter was pretty good, I suppose. The big plus this year was that the doors remained unlocked. Last year, I remember being locked out for quite a while. Last year, I drew and read Chobits. This year, I didn't even touch my notebook, and instead played card games (yay!). There was some DDR this time around (I was too embarassed and uncoordinated to do it last year). Surprisingly, I actually prefer the movies they had last year, because atleast they varried. This time around was a Ben Stiller/Owen Wilson marathon, with Hitchhiker's Guide and it's freaky white mice to break it up. They played Zoolander twice! Twice! I can't even stand it once! I've seen it too much. Bre, that's the reason I didn't want to go see the movie with you. Whenever you asked me, Zoolander was playing. Although I did see it the second time...that was just because Hitchhiker's Guide ended and I didn't want to cross over to the caffeteria and get my socks wet...ooo, I hate wet socks.

Hmm...I'm sure there's more I wanted to say, but the curse of the short attention span, which plagued me last year when I was writing about the BAN (Band All-Nighter), is back. That, and I'm sleep deprived, it's almost 11pm, and the Force is balancing things out again (see the September 26th post if you don't get that).

Just somethin....

I'm getting pretty excited with this band all-nighter thing. EEEE!! Tis gonna be so much fun! If you recal, my very first post was about-- GOD, WILL YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!! Sorry, a crow's taken up residence in a tree in our front yard, and he will not shut up! It's driving me insane!! Anyway, continuing that sentance--my very first post was about the BAN, so this will sorta be like coming full circle. I also forgot to celebrate the one-year aniversery of going to see Revenge of the Sith at 12:01. That was some good times...the movie kinda sucked (way better than 1 and 2), but the people...ah, they were great. And I forgot to mention it on this blog! Le gasp!! Well, it rained that day, so waiting outside was a hoot. Nick (Bayhi) and I got a prime spot under a light fixture, which was convenient when it got dark. We each had a Darth Dew slurpee and some Dark Side M&M's. Everyone was wearing costumes or some sort of Star Wars clothes. Once everyone moved into the theater, people started playing Twister and some guy even proposed to his girlfriend! That's, like, the dream proposal. Anyway, now that that's finally said, it's hard to believe that it was a year ago. That's gotta be the best damn May of my life. The next week is gonna have to be killer if it wants to come even close to last year.

dress-up

The Jungle Book

Well, I just got back from seeing the Jungle Book, and it was pretty good. Not Children's Hour's grace, and not even close to the version we put on in the fourth grade, but still pretty good. The one we did back in elementary school was da bomb. If we had an acid monkey, I'm pretty sure we could've gone to Broadway, maybe even traveled the world! Ah, what could have been...Don't believe me about our TAG production? Well, here's some pictures to prove it....

The guy second from the left on the bottom picture (the one in the khaki shorts) is now punk. I believe he played one of the random wolves. Jenna (in the oh-so-stylish wolf outfit) played Akela, although I still feel I could've done a much better job. You've got Ian playing...something. I really don't know. Mabye he was Sher Khan's lacky or something...I forgot. You have the now football-player-but-still-a-dork Tanner, decked out in tiger attire. Kelsey, who nowadays finds herself near the top of the popularity food chain, played a fairly good Mogli. In overalls. Nick, well....he's still Nick, only now he's dropped the bear ears for pirate garb. Last but not least, you have the star of the show: me. Not to be too concieted, but I think I did pretty good....Oh, god, the hair!

Ah, look at those magnificent decorations! Behold! The beautiful costume design! That, truly, was a memorable performance...

This week has been..."interesting"

Well, that drinking and driving thing was...um, well, emotionally scarring for the Drama people sitting in the crowd. It was pretty funny for the rest of us, though. Well, for me atleast. I'm immature like that. It had it's quotes, that's for sure ("I hate Jammin' 93.5!" "Sarah, it's 95.5" "...I still hate it"). The best part of it was that we just messed around in the other core classes.

On another entirely different note, I'm addicted to video games again. I got Pump it Up: Exceed and Kingdom Hearts 2. My parents also used my video game wish list from last year, so I got Drakengard as well. Kingdom Hearts is pretty fun, although all the cut scenes gets old fast. Pump it Up is freaky hard without the bar, but I'm learning to deal without it. Drakengard is still the fun button masher I remember. I've only got one level left before I beat it GOD DAMN COMMERTIALS!!!!!! Sorry, but as I'm writing this, I'm watching Lost and it is sHwEeT! Um, I was gonna say something, but I forgot...oh well, now I'm off on a quest for ice cream.

Well, I got a bit of a bombshell dropped on me yesterday. I found out that life is not all well between my mom and dad, although my dad doesn't know anything about this. My mom's unhappy because they don't communicate as much anymore. So, this is an ongoing thing that I've really been trying to push into the back of my mind. That's yet another thing that I have to be bothered about.

I haven't been sleeping well lately. Twice this week (2/3 in the entire year) I've half woken up and done things (take out my retainer, go to the bathroom, let the cat out, etc.). Once I finally wake up, I'm not sure if it was a dream or reality until I find reminants of what happened. I've also been having really wierd dreams, one of which was frighteningly real. When I thought about it, then emotions were as strong as though it wasn't a dream at all. I think I've been overstressed (and most of this happened before I found out about my parents). What with this group science project (which really wasn't a group thing at all), the guarentee of Andrea leaving, and missing 2-3 days near the end of school (probably Finals Week) to get the metal plate taken out. It's way too much for my little vacation-starved mind to handle.

These past few days haven't been all misery and woe, though. I was riding an ego high for a while. I aced my History test (100/100, and my first time doing so all year), I was stopped outside the Biology classroom by Hammonds to be congratulated on my narrative writing piece which he said was the best he read, and then everyone was congratulating me on my Donald Duck thing in Geometry. So, that made me feel special. Special in an "I feel loved" way, not a "We don't put panties on our heads. The voices told Sarah, so now Sarah knows" way.
